“ The gourmet burgers were absolutely mouth watering...specifically the bbq with onion ring burger and the green chili burger, both out of this world!!! The specialty margaritas were delicious and memorable! Didn't love the Firecracker shrimp appetizer-needed spice on the rice paper and a different sauce other than the cocktail sauce. The service staff were amazing and the atmosphere of both restaurants gorgeous! ”
“ I was a little skeptical because of the reviews. The naked rellenos, rice and beans were not that good. There are a lot of places with better southwestern food. My husband had the salmon and sweet potato fries, which was very good. The cheesecake was very good. I also thought the chips and salsa were very flavorful. ”

“ I’ve had an ongoing love affair with New Mexican food for the past 38 years. So recently when I came to Las Cruces on business from Albuquerque is was looking for a place with great food, great margaritas, and great ambiance. I found all three in spades at Peppers located in the historic Double Eagle on the plaza in old Mesilla. The decor is authentic to the hotel’s origins in 1848 and to historic New Mexican culture. The silver coin margarita was just perfect and I believe the food was the best New Mexican I’ve ever had. Nothing came from a can and everything seemed prepared with skill and pride, probably from scratch. It was so good I didn’t want the meal to end. The service was prompt, accurate and welcoming. And I even read a letter from Billy the Kid to governor Lew Wallace, framed on the wall. I could have spent hours just looking at all the period artwork. Peppers was far better than I’d even hoped for and I can’t wait to go back! ”
“ What an amazing restaurant! When we walked in, we were shocked to see how big it was! The rooms were all beautiful, we ate in the sunroom, covered in fantastic tropical plants and colorful painted furniture. I had the Chicken Pecan Salad with fresh pineapple and all kinds of fruit. It was the best chicken salad I have ever had and I am 73! Beautiful presentation, delicious food, attentive waiter. Definitely go there. ”
“ We came specifically to try the World’s Biggest Green Chile Cheeseburger. It did not disappoint. It fed 4 adults and a toddler and was quite tasty! Fries were good, decorations were fun, and the restaurant has a haunted history which is also fun! Service was good, the waitress was nice, no complaints! I give it 5 stars instead of 4 because they’re doing something unique (giant green chile burger). Give it a try! ”
“ Place was very clean, staff was friendly, food was good, but service was very slow. I don't know if they're understaffed or what, but we were there almost an hour and twenty minutes, for a group of four that had ordered four plates, to get our food. When the waitress came back to check on us, she was like "Wow, you all ate that fast," as we were done eating, but no, we were not fast, you were super slow. Made the mistake of ordering a piece of the pecan pie, how long do you think it took to get that? It was over 10 minutes. So if you're in a hurry, this is not the place for you. If you have time to burn, it's great. I have no complaints about anything else. ”
